Milan coach Fabio Capello with all his foreign players before the 1993-94 season. At that time Serie A teams were allowed to register as many foreign players as they wanted but could name a maximum of three foreign players on their 16-man matchday squad.
The extra foreign players usually travelled with the team and watch the match from the stands in their club suits.
Marco van Basten was injured that whole season, and Florin Răducioiu and Brian Laudrup did not get much playing time. This meant that Zvonimir Boban, Dejan Savićević and Jean-Pierre Papin had to rotate with another foreign player, who is not in the picture, for the three spots in the team.
There is one more player in the picture, who also did not play any matches for Milan that season.
