Built a new mode for Vagis.health ring called Exertion specifically for the MECFS/LC community. HR/METS/kcal metrics. Example here is 20 min in the kitchen with some sitting. Video is AI agent assist built into the app. @RenegadeRes@LongCOVIDWebCA
Watch his neck, his head was being pulled over then he got hit in the same direction putting immense pressure at his craniocervical junction which distorts the brainstem medulla leading to concussion symptoms.
Kyer Murray clearly fencing here, which means he was likely unconscious. Not cleared to return, definitely a #concussion based on mechanism if the hit and video response alone. Hope it's a simple recovery from symptoms, long-term effects unknown.
Making great progress on the Vagis.health ring app rebuild. New Cycling and Deep stage analysis for sleep mode with an improved sleep staging algorithm. Just released on App Store for @RenegadeRes participants. More to come soon.
Vagis smart ring data and analysis for pre and post PASATc mental stressor test in a healthy control subject, me. I did not expect to see a significant drop (30%) between pre and late (difficult) mental stress. And absolutely not a bit of movement (Fig3). @RenegadeRes
Vagis.health smart ring data from a @renegade member with MECFS pre, during, and post 60 min mental stressor. Dramatic PWA decrease during stress. HR decrease near end followed by PWA return to baseline. PWA data samples from non motion. We’ve seen this 2/2 times.
Great paper! I agree with everything.
I’m not sure if you saw our posts, but 2 weeks ago 5 of our team members purposely induced PEM and collected blood and urine over 4 days. We also did a bunch of other testing, like autonomic, stand tests with blood flow to the brain, lactate, cortisol, etc. and some of those we were able to do more than the 4 days. You can see more about the project with the hashtag #InnovationInn
I do think we will find clues to follow up on with larger studies. We already are starting to. This is the latest autonomic result that @BrainstemMd pulled out.
We will have a meeting for researchers soon where we will talk about what we did and what data we have. We want to get as many eyes on it as possible. We also have some extra serum and plasma samples banked in case anyone comes up with additional testing to run. I’ll send you an invite when we schedule it.
Stand test data from a single wearer captured by Vagis.health ring during recent @RenegadeRes PEM induction study. Slide1) raw pulse data. 2) bar graphs showing PWA drop during PEM. 3) Scalogram.4) Figure summary.

MECFS (left) vs non-MECFS (right). Obvious high resting HR in ME subject and a big HR drop (40bpm) at start of supine2. The classic deltaHR on stand is identical for both. Ensemble waveforms show same shape/timing in supine 1&2 for both subjects. @RenegadeRes
Pulled the old Muse out last night, it’s been years. Top is screenshot from Vagis ring app sleep last night. Then python script on Vagis exported data. Bottom Muse/MindMonitor EEG delta data. No PPG wearable device on the market is as accurate as Vagis ring. Sorry AppleWatch.
This is actually almost not even believable it’s so good. Look how the delta trace increases and decreases at the same time the Vagis ring sleep stager is cycling between deep and NREM sleep, kinda nuts.@RenegadeRes
A huge advantage Vagis ring has is the ability to track pulse wave amplitude data. During sleep the PWA data provides respiration rate (green) and therefore eliminates the possibility that the slow vasomotion signal is being driven by sleep disordered breathing.
PPI (1) and PWA (2) data from 10 min of quiet sleep pre and post PEM induction. Very similar slow vasomotion pattern seen in the study by Togo 2026 (3). Higher HR, lower PWA, lower slowHRV post PEM consistent with sympathetic vasoconstriction. @RenegadeRes
Vagis.health BVR and SlowHRV vs Oxyring desaturation. Aug11 moderate desat aligns with mod BVR and mod slowHRV. Aug7 severe desat aligns with severe BVR and high (above 80) slowHRV. Desaturation-blood volume variability-slowHRV correlation during sleep.
5 hrs sleep last night, short but good, I’ll explain. Aug11 oxygen (Oxyring) and Vagis PAV beside. Some desat below 90 and lots of moderate PAV during REM. Aug7 desat to 80 mostly high PAV during REM. Moderate REM PAV last night (not severe) so I won’t be afternoon tired today.

Peripheral vasomotor tone (bottom PPG) and brain venous oscillations (top fMRI) at 0.008-0.1 Hz synchronize during NREM across nearly the whole brain. This is the CSF flow, glymphatic clearance band. Tuunanen et al. 2024. @RenegadeRes
