Argentina’s Mining Secretary is in London this week asking British investors to back its lithium and copper sector, including at LME Week. At the same time, Buenos Aires is escalating legal and economic pressure on British-linked companies operating lawfully around the Falkland Islands.  That is remarkably short-sighted. You cannot ask British capital to trust Argentina while threatening companies and executives for doing business connected to British territory. Investors will reasonably ask one question: if political disputes can spill over into sanctions, litigation and commercial pressure, how secure is my investment?
