My wife and I had 4 miscarriages. I didn't think I would ever be able to share a moment like this with a son or daughter. Then, in 2015, our baby boy came to us. We named him Kinnick. I thank God for this gift. Last night was a magical night we got to experience together.

If it were 1985 and 16-year-old me got a glimpse into the future and saw these Big Ten Conference standings, I'd have some serious questions. First, when did Penn State, Nebraska, and Washington join the Big Ten? Second, how did all 4 of these football powerhouses end up at the bottom of the conference? And finally, if all these schools are in the Big Ten, why are we still calling it the Big Ten?

Went to watch former player Asia Beale hoop it up for Ellsworth Community College today! Asia dropped 23 points and continues to show what she can do on the basketball court. She’ll be looking for a four-year college next year, and I truly believe she’s a hidden gem with Division I mid-major potential. Coaches, if you're looking for a player who can make an impact at the next level, check her out!

I'm not saying Kinnick had anything to do with these events, but... The year he was born (2015), Iowa went 12-0 in the regular season. This past May, Kinnick and I made an impromptu trip to Milwaukee to attend our first MLB game ever. It took me 56 years to attend one! Five months later, the Brewers win the World Series! Just saying...

Kinnick called me at open gym today and asked if he could wear an autographed jersey for Jersey Day at school. I told him he could, but only if he could solve my riddle. "The jersey you can wear is the name of a famous rock band combined with the last name of a famous female singer." Pry too early for that... Go Hawks!

I've known Dr. Pappas for over 30 years. Throughout those years, my teams scrimmaged against his teams, and more recently in my career, we played games against his teams. He was as competitive as they come, but one thing I always admired about him was that he handled winning and losing the same way, with class and professionalism.
