Smoke from the 24 Fire burning south of us has increased rapidly in the last hour, which is why it’s so visible from across our city. You're likely smelling smoke as well. While this is understandably alarming—especially for those who remember past fires—please know that at this time, there is no immediate threat to our community. Even with the resources we have sent to help fight the 24 Fire, our city is fully covered with adequate fire personnel in place and ready to respond when our community needs them. That said, we always want our community to be prepared. • Stay aware of official updates • Review your evacuation plan • Have a go-bag ready in case conditions change We understand how stressful this can feel. Your safety is our top priority, and we are closely monitoring conditions and will share updates immediately if anything changes. We are here. We are staffed. And we are ready. Go to Coloradosprings.gov/readyset… for tips on being prepared.
