The main issue isn’t the tone it’s fantastical vs non-fantastical.
Clayface and Lanterns are grounded sure but clearly fantastical. The Batman world isn’t.

I honestly have a very strong belief that the “Bane and Deathstroke” movie is actually a Salvation/ LOD movie with Lex involved.

I did think the name was bad (it still kinda is) but considering it’s a mockumentary it’s makes sense it being a riff off other documentaries.
Also it does leave the potential to have a second season be “The People vs..” or for each episode title to be similarly themed.
