Ok this deserved its own post. Last night Phish closed set 1 with Squirming Coil which typically ends with a long piano solo by Page as the rest of the band drifts off the stage. Boardwalk Hall is home to the largest, loudest pipe organ ever built. Built in 1929-1932, it consists of 33,112 pipes, and has been gradually being restored since the 1990鈥檚 at a cost of over $100 million, which Phish has apparently helped with a bit. So last night Page got up instead of the band and walked over and played the organ for the outro of Coil. The first time it鈥檚 ever been used as part of a live show. It was an incredible moment, we were crying, Page was crying, top 5 Phish moment for me. How does this band, after 30+ years and 100鈥檚 of show continue to amaze me? Best. Band. Ever.
