In Aug this year, for 1 month, the Govt made bus journeys free for children in England.
Now, new figures show that the scheme enabled more than 14 million free child journeys. One bus service in the North East had 710% more child passengers than last summer.

ALT Photo of Michael Solomon Williams with the quote, "As well as saving families money on millions of journeys, free child bus fares encouraged people to give the bus a try, inspiring a new generation of bus users. It's great to see this efficient, sustainable form of transport being given such a boost. But even with free fares, access to buses is not equal. One in seven people live in places without a decent bus service. The Government needs to do more to reconnect these transport deserts."
