It was super cool to be at the @GetGameChanger event and see the level of talent of these kids. Getting to give them some guidance was really cool as well, as they welcomed information that could help them.
All that being said - their level of talent warranted them being on a field with kids who WERE NOT their age. Pelotero's Rating System can help make sure they're playing against the right competition... always.
A few weeks ago we got the chance to the run the @GetGameChanger 13U scout team through Universal Rating System testing.
These tests are designed to measure the speed at which players can play the game.

My son had the opportunity to play in a tourney in Cooperstown over the weekend. As an 11 year old, he was honored to be asked to play “up” in the 12 U division. This is what he was up against. No. 3 was my height. No. 6 is my son. I don’t know what they feed them in California!

It will be interesting when local programs start working together to drive the level up play upward.
Playing and performing against good competition is not option for recruiting... kids are getting forced to play in high school situations, then pursue better all summer.
There will be a massive rise is Academy options with kids dropping from high school programs. When you fail to align competition, your model is broken. It is inefficient. People will leave.
When local programs stop competing and recruiting against each other and start working together, local options will become real again.
