Penalty aside, Simmons was an absolute game changer today. I said before the season he was the best player on the roster and could be the best in the SEC. TBD but this was a glimpse of it.

This is an “inside baseball” type stat that won’t trump quality wins, schedule strength and record strength and what the committee sees on film. But it will put a number to answer the question: how tough is the daily grind in the each league? It’s not even equal within them.

Committee staffs work very VERY hard on the bill only to have it change multiple times - sometimes to the point where you wonder if it’s the same thing they began with. It’s often not.

The United States Senate does not operate the way CFB fans and reporters are used to - clocks, deadlines, a clear end to the game in sight. This is, though, what happens many, many times with federal legislation.
