Ganesh Immersion Arrangements | CMC Ready for the Final Phase With more Ganesh immersions expected today and tomorrow, CMC continues arrangements across all designated immersion points to ensure safe, smooth and peaceful celebrations. As of 23 September 2026, a total of 1,03,149 Ganesh idols have been immersed across Cyberabad during the ongoing festival period, and the immersion process continues through the final phase. Arrangements have been in place from Day 1, covering immersion facilities, cranes, lighting, sanitation, waste management, devotee movement, safety and field-level support. CMC is also collecting flower waste separately at the immersion points. The flowers are being segregated, dried and processed into useful products such as incense sticks, dhoops and diyas. Traffic Mobility | JNTU–Miyapur–Raidurg Corridor A meeting on traffic mobility and last-mile connectivity along the JNTU–Miyapur–Raidurg Metro corridor was held at the CMC Head Office and chaired by Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan. The Commissioner, CMC, MD, RTC, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Cyberabad, Zonal Commissioners of Cyberabad, Department Heads and other concerned officials participated. The meeting reviewed a proposed Traffic Mobility & Last-Mile Connectivity Study, covering: 🔹 Continuous footpath connectivity along the approximately 8.5 km corridor, including missing links, crossings, encroachments and unsafe pedestrian sections. 🔹 Auto-rickshaw and feeder connectivity, including designated pick-up/drop-off bays and feeder auto stands at metro stations and major junctions. 🔹 Police & traffic management, including congestion points, accident-prone locations, pedestrian crossings, signage, barricading and traffic regulation. 🔹 School transport and peak-hour mobility, including school bus/van movement and parent vehicle congestion. 🔹 School-child car-pooling and designated pick-up/drop-off zones away from the main carriageway. 🔹 Metro feeder and last-mile network, integrating walking, cycling, feeder autos/e-autos, schools, offices, residential areas and commercial establishments. Vennalagadda Lake | 71 Days Later!! 71 days after the pilot herbicide application at Vennalagadda Lake, Jeedimetla Circle, the results continue to be encouraging. Water hyacinth, which had been a recurring concern at the lake, has not shown visible regrowth in the treated area even after 71 days. The latest field observations show the water surface continuing to remain largely free from hyacinth. The pilot was initiated to test whether a technology-enabled approach could provide longer-lasting control of invasive aquatic vegetation.
