we spend a lot of time posting condos, but there’s actually a serious reason we built this around $ONDO so here’s the non-meme part of the condo thesis 🏢 @Ondo is basically trying to make traditional financial assets internet-native. stocks, ETFs, treasuries, portfolios; assets that used to live almost entirely behind brokerage accounts are slowly becoming things you can actually hold and move onchain. Ondo Stocks already gives access to hundreds of tokenized stocks and ETFs across multiple chains, including Solana. and these aren’t just random synthetic tickers floating around crypto, the products are built around exposure to actual underlying securities held through traditional financial infrastructure. the liquidity model might be the most interesting part. instead of trying to bootstrap completely isolated crypto liquidity for hundreds of different stocks, @Ondo connects issuance and redemption back to traditional market liquidity. basically, onchain markets inheriting liquidity from wall street instead of trying to recreate wall street from scratch. and the scale is starting to get very real. Ondo Stocks has already crossed $1B in TVL, with billions in cumulative volume moving through the platform. now they’re going beyond putting individual assets onchain too. the more i read through @Ondo’s earliest history, the more i realize this applies to Ondo itself in 2021, @nathanlallman left Goldman Sachs’ digital assets team to build this full time what existed then was basically an MVP. what didn’t exist yet was proof that the blueprint would work the ambition was already enormous: bridge institutional finance and DeFi, bring traditional financial products onchain and build financial primitives that didn’t exist before leaving one of the most established institutions in finance to build that vision when almost none of it was obvious yet was an asymmetric bet in itself today everyone can see the building. someone still had to be willing to pour the foundation when it was just a blueprint
