Successful coaches learn to teach not tell. Tellers provide nothing but words and expect things to magically change with announcing the obvious. Teachers help players problem solve together with 2 way communication. Tellers think identifying and saying the problem is the solution. Teachers work with the athletes to help them understand how to fix the issue. If telling worked, non athletes could just tell themselves to be athletes. Teaching requires more planned preparation with understanding of human behavior.

Imagine that. Cupcake Schedule can temporarily make a team look the part. The playoffs separate the coaches from the posers. Great coaches fix issues all the time not just in losses. Can’t fix what ya can’t see. Head coaches should never be allowed to under achieve over a long period of time.

Players don’t write lineups on some teams. The best players don’t always play. There are coaches who have terrible strategy, game management, workload ignorance and habitually force the same mistakes season in and season out. Rinse and repeat coaches lose. If given the chance, their example is what winners make sure not to do. They decide that winning isn’t important, blame circumstances, and use the program as long as administration will allow it. Eventually, they confuse the whole roster, create doubt and get exposed when they hit the playoffs.

Real confidence is knowing you can compete with anyone anytime. At your worst or at your best. The next moment will be yours, not theirs. Period.

Never in time has there ever been more deception in youth sports. There are too many adults with zero integrity who are taking advantage of loving parents. I’ll never be a part of it.

Parents: That "showcase event" looks like opportunity, but it's not. Kids lose sleep, travel far, are put through rote repetition & play bad ball in front of no one. These events profit off hope. True exposure comes from real development, trusted competition, not hype cash grabs.

Some athletes thrive on transactional coaching. The majority will thrive with transformational mentorship. Ego coaching will leave you lonely at retirement if you can’t adapt to human nature. If you are a skilled coach in your sport, you know you don’t have all the answers. Don’t create bots. Create players who rely on each other through adversity.

After sending them my pitching 2.0 and hitting 2.0 for a new “Complimentary” upgrade 2.0 Pro. It’s actually worse. I asked for money back. Answer was that they gave me the unit. I paid for the other two and a yearly membership every year. Kids want to use it but we were having charging issues and ball flight metric failures. I tried to be loyal. Something has changed a Rapsodo and it’s not good.
