185 riders. 700 kilometres. One purpose: to remember.
This morning at the Ontario Police College, members of the policing community gathered to mark the start of the 2026 Canadian Police Memorial Ride to Remember.
Chief Marc Roskamp joined police leaders from across the province and spoke in his role as Vice President of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.
Members of Survivors of Law Enforcement (SOLE), fellow Chiefs, police members, families and supporters were there to send off the 185 riders beginning their journey to Ottawa.
Over the next four days, they will travel approximately 700 kilometres, arriving in Ottawa ahead of Sunday’s Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial on Parliament Hill.
Every kilometre is travelled in honour of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the families, friends and colleagues who carry their memory forward.
They are our heroes. We shall not forget them.
