This show just never gets old. I can watch these clips all these years later and still laugh just as hard as I did back then. But they bring back something else for me too. I can still picture my mother and grandmother sitting together on the couch, crocheting while The Carol Burnett Show played on the television. I can almost hear their laughter and see their hands working away while they watched. Funny how something as simple as an old television show can bring back an entire room, the people who were in it, and memories you didn’t realize were tucked away in your heart. Haig Jr. and Foreign Minister Andrei A. Gromyko. The White House Office of Mgmt and Budget identified areas where the funds are no longer needed or are contrary to the priorities of the Trump administration. This can be challenged but Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford have both done this type of action known as pocket rescissions.

Everyone sees the headline: Trump rejected Iran’s seven-day ceasefire proposal. The bigger question is what happens on day eight. A seven-day pause sounds great until everyone reloads, regroups and ends up back where they started. Iran offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and restart nuclear talks but wanted major U.S. concessions in return. This has to be about more than temporarily stopping the bombs. A deal needs to actually solve something. Trump appears willing to wait rather than accept a deal he doesn’t believe goes far enough. That’s a gamble with enormous consequences, especially if military action resumes after the midterms. Seven quiet days mean little if they only postpone the same war.
