Vaccination increased by 4.1 percentage points among immunosuppressed participants—and by 13.3 percentage points among younger adults with chronic conditions and immunosuppression. Recent research from Kaveh Hosseini and colleagues from @CTCPR_ , published in @AmJCardio, shows that influenza vaccination may provide important cardiovascular protection in patients with ischemic heart disease or heart failure. Vaccination was associated with 28% lower all-cause mortality, 23% lower cardiovascular mortality, and 19% lower risk of MI. New research from Ramin Assempoor and colleagues from @CTCPR_ , published in Cardiovascular Diabetology, shows that higher C-reactive protein–triglyceride glucose index (CTI) is strongly associated with mortality among adults with MASLD. Those in the highest CTI quartile had an 86% higher hazard of all-cause mortality and a 107% higher hazard of cardiovascular mortality. Erectile dysfunction and heart health ❤️ A new study by Emil Durukan and colleagues from both @CTCPR_ and Afdeling for Urinvejssygdomme, published in the Journal Sexual Medicine, examined cardiac function in 398 men with erectile dysfunction. Higher BMI, diastolic blood pressure and HbA1c were associated with LV systolic dysfunction, while BMI and dyslipidemia were associated with LV diastolic dysfunction. The findings highlight the close link between sexual and cardiovascular health and the importance of cardiometabolic risk assessment in men with ED. 🔥Can sauna bathing improve exercise capacity in HFpEF? In the SAUNA-HFpEF pilot study, published in the European Journal of Heart Failure, first author @TarekBekfaniMD and colleagues from @CTCPR_ and University Hospital Magdeburg found that 10 weeks of supervised sauna bathing improved peak VO₂, 6MWT, quadriceps strength, diastolic function, body composition & QoL.
