Bogotá Colombia 🇨🇴 Hotel reception said whatever you do “Don’t go to the Bronx of Bogotá. Naturally, I had to check it out. The shit that happened later that night is one the scariest things to happen to me. Even the locals here in the video were telling me to avoid it.

Photo 1 is 4 years ago in Syria under the Assad Regime Phone 2 is last year under the new HTS (previously called the Al-Nusra Front) They used to be called Jabhat al-Nusra back in 2011 and were a direct affiliate of al-Qaeda. The leader of the Islamic State (IS) group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was also involved in the Al-Nusra Front formation. It was proscribed as a terrorist group by the UN, the US, Turkey and other countries But al-Jolani publicly broke ranks with al-Qaeda, dissolved Jabhat al-Nusra and set up a this new organisation, which took the name Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) when it merged with several other similar groups. Now all of a sudden because Jolani has put on a suit, he can walk into 10 Downing Street and conferences in New York and all is forgotten. Assad was a bastard and Syrians wanted rid of him but you ask Syrians about these new boys and 8 times out of 10 you’ll get the same reply. These guys are hardliners and everyone is waiting for their mask to slip before they turn Syria into something worse than Afghanistan. I spoke to many Syrians across different cities and the majority of them feel the same way. I managed to get one member of HTS to sit and chat to me (he made sure to remove his patches) which funnily enough were still the same ones ISIS used. He declared himself an “Islamist” his words not mine. He did say something that caught my attention tho.. if you listen to the clip i’ve attached, he said “The government is asking us to be kind to people” As opposed to what? The soldiers from the Assad Regime were given a window of opportunity to go to dedicated places set up across the country and sign the paperwork and hand in all weapons.. failing that, they would be dealt with. My prediction is Syria will be a lot worse in a few years when the mask slips and it’ll be very difficult for people to fight their way out of it. What do I know tho.. I’m just a guy from Coatbridge 🥸

Inside the rebel tunnels in Douma. Douma is a major city and district located about 10 kilometers (6 miles) northeast of Damascus in the Ghouta region of Syria.🇸🇾

A moment many will remember seeing on the news
An American Delta Force operator after the capture of Saddam Hussein.
Community note
The person in the photo is Samir, an Iraqi-American interpreter who assisted US forces in Saddam Hussein's 2003 capture, not an American Delta Force operator. nypost.com/2011/12/04/the… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capture_o… commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sadd…

Who’s wanting to run the Sierra Madre Gauntlet with me I’ve sat for the last few hours putting this together, it might appeal to someone 👇🏻 Explore Juárez for a couple of days then travel from Juárez to Chihuahua City on the highway 45D. Then we drop straight south. If it’s more appealing, we can stick strictly to the toll roads which means we can keep the speed up. The desert stretches are vast and heavily monitored. Which sounds dodgy but will be funny because everytime we see a motor I’ll be giving it “that’s us fucked now” Then we head into the Heartland (highway 16 to highway 15D) Then we cut off west through big winding canyons of the Sierra Madre Occidental. (Zero phone signal at all here) Windows down during this part of the drive as there is masked checkpoints. Put the foot down to get into Culiacán before the sun drops. Couple of days mooching in Culiacán Then we do the mountain escape on highway 40D directly east out of Sinaloa We will cross approximately 115 bridges and pass through 61 tunnels. This also includes the massive Túnel el Sinaloense, which means driving through 1.7 mile of solid mountain rock. One of the bridges is called the Baluarte Bridge, which suspends the motor 1,322 feet above the canyon floor. If this sounds appealing, then that’s only the drive! That’s not including all the actual exploring in the triangle. All rounded off with a couple of beers in cancun 🍻 And in years to come when your in the boozer telling stories with the boys, you can hit them with the: “Let me tell you the story of the unreleased Sierra Madre tapes” 😮‍💨
