The Rover SD1 Vitesse is one of Britain’s most unforgettable performance cars of the 1980s.
With its dramatic shape, five door practicality and aggressive stance, it had a character that made it stand out from ordinary family cars. Under the bonnet was a 3.5 litre fuel injected V8, giving the SD1 Vitesse the deep, powerful sound that enthusiasts still remember today.
Built in the Midlands, this Rover had a fascinating mix of British practicality and serious performance. Its gold mesh style wheels, low stance and bold road presence gave it an unmistakable look.
The SD1 also became closely associated with the fast moving world of 1980s Britain, including police pursuit cars and the criminals who tried to outrun them. That reputation only added to its legendary status.

Before #Mitsubishi|#MMC brought the #Colt on its way across the world, #Japan got the 500 (1960-62), which some wrongly call the #Colt500.
Built in 15k units, it wasn't the biggest hit, but it made the small city car socially acceptable in post-war-Japan.

The #Mitsubishi|#MMC500 (1960-62) was made in ~15k units, of which until today only 4(!) kept alive!
This sad story should be acknowledged by its monetary worth!!
This unit is the only located in Europe; estimated at £6-9k, it was sold w/oR at only £3.450.
ALT The 4(!) remaining 500s are located in: Japan (2 units), United States (1 unit) & this one (which was sold to *unknown*)
