Latest charts show worst of the storm next Tuesday staying out in Atlantic but still likely to bring us wind and rain. Models also show high pressure build close to Ireland from end of next week.

Friday morning update with latest on week ahead and risk of storm next week.

A mild Thursday evening but wet in the West and that rain will move Southeast this evening and tonight before clearing East for a bright Friday morning followed by a mix of sunny spells and showers. The weekend will also be sunny spells and showers with narrow band of rain crossing country Saturday but clearing East Sunday . Still huge uncertainty on potential storm in Atlantic next Tuesday, some models have worst of it staying out in the Atlantic and others don’t have it as strong but details will chop and change a lot over next 3 days.

Up to 16c in the Southwest with heavy rain in Northwest as the sun shines over Carlow.

Band of showers moving Southeast Thursday. Heaviest in West and Northwest but breaking up as they reach East.

Some big seas possible next week with that potential storm

Still a lot of uncertainty around risk of storm early next week. Again the ECMWF model brings it into Ireland and strong enough into Southwest but GFS model has it peaking well South of Ireland. I’m sure you will see worst case scenario charts shared so bear in mind still very uncertain.

Weather models showing risk of low system developing in Atlantic next week and heading our way around Tuesday. However how much it develops is very uncertain but latest ECMWF model run shows risk of it deepening and being strong winds, GFS not so much. One to watch.

The El Niño has reached record levels already but as I talked about in my video a couple of weeks ago the impacts on Irish weather are much more uncertain, it can lead to milder and wetter first half of winter and cooler second half but really the impacts on Ireland vary a lot.

A very mild Monday morning but mainly dry with some sunny spells developing today before showers return Tuesday to the Northwest at first then extend to more areas with rain overnight before a bright and sunny Wednesday. Thursday will see the outer bands of that storm in Atlantic bring some more rain into the West.

Plenty of sunny spells on a fine Sunday but that cloud in Southwest will increase up the country through the afternoon and evening.

Sea temperatures South of Ireland well above normal and plenty of heat still down in parts of Portugal and Spain where it could hit up to 39c in the coming days.
