okay but have you considered i was Sad and school makes me Happy
In the book she kills hundreds (King puts the Black Prom + town rampage at around 440 dead) and then dies herself after stopping her mother’s heart. Calling it “so sad” she won’t go back to school completely misses that she levels Chamberlain.
The new series letting her live and shifting a lot of the blame to Emaline is a big departure from the novel’s point—that extreme repression, religious abuse, and unchecked cruelty create an inescapable tragedy, not a survivor story.
Book Carrie is a victim who becomes a monster; soft adaptations keep trying to make her less responsible.
