NEXT STOP: Casper College 📍🏀 First-year Head Coach Ty Larson joins the JUCO Virtual Tour to introduce this year’s Casper group and break down the names four-year coaches need to know heading into the fall.

For first-year Casper College head coach Ty Larson, taking over the Thunderbirds means adding his own chapter to a program with a tradition he already respects. “This is a job where there’s rich history. Good players have come through there, some really good coaches have come through here.” Larson knew from the beginning that he wanted to build on what was already established at Casper rather than lose sight of the foundation created by the coaches and players who came before him. “We’re trying to kind of carry on the tradition and legacy that’s come with this job.” As Larson begins putting his stamp on the program, the identity is straightforward: defend, rebound, compete, share the basketball and play the right way. “We’re going to be about defense, rebounding, playing hard, playing the right way, sharing the basketball.” Now the Thunderbirds are ready to see how that foundation translates when they get the opportunity to line up against outside competition.

I played Junior College Basketball there for one year before I went on to play Division 1 Basketball at the University Of Montana and now this is where my first full headline tour will begin.
