Two weeks is always a small sample size, but interesting league-wide trends to note: - After a historically high scoring Wk 1, 19 of the 32 NFL teams failed to score 21 points in Wk 2. - The INT rate league-wide is at 2.0%, which is the lowest in at least the last 20 yrs (I've only seen numbers back to 2007) - The number of plays run per game is also at a 20-yr low (maybe longer). 128.6 snaps per game slightly lower than last yr's 128.9 - Possessions per game is at 21.3, which is 2nd lowest in the last 20 years (it was 20.9 last yr) - Last yr, teams went for it on 4th down 23.3% of the time, by far the highest rate in the last 20 yrs. This year, it's down significantly so far: 16.6%. - Sack rate is the 2nd highest it's been in the last 20 yrs. Turnover rate is the 2nd lowest it's been in the last 20.

Scrambling for a first down on third-and-long is an odd thing to be good at, but Mayfield did it again Sunday, running for first downs on third-and-10 and third-and-9. He has two, and the rest of the NFL has five such third-and-9+ runs for first down this year. Last year, Mayfield had an NFL-best five of them. Nobody else with more than three.
