I was Trent’s 4th position Coach, so in his final year we worked really hard at not recreating his game - but supplementing it w/ proper fundamentals.
He had a lot of bad habits, years of bad habits are hard to break, but he worked really hard at it!
Here, we are working a base block from a hipped position on the TKL. He’s doing a great job taking his target square, from start to finish, never turning his hips or shoulders. He’s hitting his target - PS #, while also achieving 2nd Step on Contact.
You’d like to see his Second Step drive through contact, but he was dealing w/ a torn hip labrum, so you see the second step bounce instead of stick. Regardless, this is a great rep, and in the end we maximized his ability! 🫡📈
