This is Sugar, and her story is a very special one... Born deaf and blind, Sugar's family gave her up because they could not meet her needs, and surrendered her to the shelter. There are moments when the world reminds you how soft it still can be... ❤️ One family stepped forward.. Sugar's new Mom, Susan, already shares her life with a blind and deaf dog, and with another dog, who has learned with quiet devotion, to be his guide. Susan understood, in the deepest way, what it means to love someone who experiences the world differently and she knew, without doubt, that she could give this little soul the gentle, steady life she deserved. She drove 32 hours round trip from Texas to Georgia just to to get Sugar. Sugar has met her new siblings. She is learning the map of her house with her paws and her heart. She is settling into a life where she is known. 🐶🏡 Her family is learning touch language...learning to speak with their hands so she never has to wonder if she is understood... so she never has to feel alone in the dark or the silence. They are building a language of Love just for her ❣️
