I don’t get it. WRs will work on their craft with footwork & releases daily with trainers & coaches alike. What I don’t understand is those same dudes not catching the ball as much as humanly possible on a daily basis.
When I was at
@LMHS_HawksFTBL &
@CamdenRecruits as their respective OC, we worked with on it constantly. Looking to tuck, framing the ball, catch with hands, no body catches, etc. Now at
@EHSTrojanFTBL as their OC, we are working the same thing.
I told my WRs earlier this summer if you catch 50 balls a day, 5 days a week, that’s 250 balls a week. If we have 8 weeks of summer, that’s 2,000 balls before fall camp. That number doesn’t include practice catches, 7v7 catches, team session catches at OTAs. Man, that’s a lot.
So WRs who have dreams of playing at the next level, go to trainings, catch footballs from your QB at HIS training sessions, catch from a JUGS machine, catch from your parent in the backyard. Get it in! Trust me, you’ll thank me for it!
