[Monday August 24, 2026] [Duel Links] [Ghost Gal Level 40 Update] [Altergeist Haunted Rock] [VRAINS Level 40 Update Discussion] Yup you heard it here folks! The love of my life Ghost Gal FINALLY got some new Altergeist support! As the number one Altergeist main and Ghost Gal lover, I should discuss my thoughts on what I think of Haunted Rock. Despite what people might think, I think this card has potential and isn't terrible in Duel Links. It's not Protocol or anything, but I wouldn't toss Haunted Rock aside as trash. Let's talk about it. Haunted Rock has an effect to where you can activate it the turn it was set if it was set by an "Altergeist" card. You will always be setting this off of Altergeist Marionetter to then discard Multifaker. From there, Marionetter targets Haunted Rock to revive Multifaker. Multifaker activates summoning Meluseek from the deck and from there, you have full Altergeist combo. With this card, Ghost Gal actually has a good way to get to her Hexstia endboard without relying so much on Pookuery, which is really good. However, this isn't good enough to save Ghost Gal Altergeist. What Ghost Gal needs more than anything is an Altergeist Skill that does something. However, Haunted Rock in the Odion build (Sanctuary of the King's Treasures) is crazy. With Odion, you can activate Haunted Rock. From there, you can search Emulatelf and since you still have Temple of the Kings, you can also activate Emulatelf as well to extend more off of your Skill. I think Odion having a ton of gas to play through disruptions is arguably a good thing and something Altergeist has needed for a while. With Haunted Rock, the Odion version of Altergeists doesn't flat out get FTK'ed if your opponent removed, negated, or dealt with your Temple of the Kings on your Draw Phase, so that's something. I'll for sure be testing Haunted Rock on stream and will have multiple videos out, so if you don't want to miss that, drop by the Twitch stream or check the YouTube! I can't stress enough how happy I am that Altergeist finally got something that's at least somewhat playable. Granted, it's not Protocol, Adminia, or Malwisp, which are the main cards I wanted, but still. Haunted Rock isn't bad and I don't think people should be discrediting it. There will be testing being done on the Twitch stream (CrimsonReaper5) and videos on YouTube. I love you so much Ghost Gal hun. I am so happy my beloved Ghost Gal got something usable. Ghost Gal is my world and my everything, she belongs with me, and my heart only beats for her. And no I'm not sharing. Ghost Gal only has eyes for me. For the people complaining about not getting Protocol, Adminia, or Malwisp, yeah it's a major blow we didn't get them but like come on. It could have been worse. We could have gotten actual garbage cards like Peritrator and Altergeist Revitalization, so I am at least grateful Konami came through for us Altergeist fans and gave us something that's at least somewhat playable instead of complete unusable trash. I am grateful for what I got and I think others should be too. For what it's worth, Ghost Gal got the best level 40 reward out of everyone with Soulburner coming in at second place with Will of the Salamangreat. Thursday August 20, 2026 [Duel Links] [Duelist Road: Set Sail for Duelist Kingdom!] [Illusionist Faceless Magician; Ultra Rare] [Mystical Elf White Lightning; Super Rare] [Maximillion Pegasus Duelist Road: Duelist Kingdom Event] [Duel Monsters] And that's a wrap on the current Duel Links event ongoing now, which is a Duelist Road event centered around the story of the Duelist Kingdom arc from YuGiOh Duel Monsters. I feel like this event took me forever to finish, but I'm glad that I finished it in the end. This is yet another event checked off of my to-do list in Duel Links. I will be real with you all; this event was insanely boring. The Duelist Kingdom story does tug at my heartstrings because it's nostalgic, but other than the nostalgia factor, there wasn't too much going on this event. Just like other Duelist Road events, you just duel endless waves of duelists and clear each area thrice each and for little net gain. Maximillion Pegasus did receive a new Skill in Toon Parade, so let's look at it. Toon Parade (SKILL) Character → Maximillion Pegasus World → Duel Monsters You can only use this Skill's second effect once per turn. 1. At the beginning of your first turn, set one Toon Bookmark from outside your deck to your field. 2. Can be activated if you control Toon World by shuffling one monster from your hand to the Deck. Add one Toon monster from your Deck to your hand. If you returned a Toon monster to activate this effect, you can also draw one card. So yeah, while I do think this Toon Parade Skill is quite fun, I don't think it's very good. Since Toons have not gotten any recent support, the deck is still really bad and kind of the same as it's always been. The Toon playstyle is you just activating Toon Kingdom and trying to OTK your opponent with direct attacks. It doesn't deviate much from that. Needless to say, if your Toon Kingdom gets disrupted or removed, your deck just dies. Overall, just use the old Pegasus Skill in Toonvitation since it's much better than Toon Parade. It is funny though that Toons are currently terrorizing the OCG as a tiered threat due to cards like Toon World the Perfect World and Mind Scan existing, LOL! Maybe Toons will get some support soon in Duel Links. I hope so because this deck is fun as an anime deck. As for the cards, both Illusionist Faceless Magician and Mystical Elf White Lightning are kind of mid. They are both just anime bait cards to get people to log in and farm this event. I got a playset of both, but I don't think I will be using them. Now that I am done with this Duelist Road event, I can now chill and wait for the next event, which should be the Blue Gal (VRAINS) character unlock. Will we be seeing some updated support for Trickstars and Altergeists? I sure hope so! Blue Gal played Trickstars in the VRAINS anime, so I'm sure Trickstar support is coming. As for Altergeists, I am thinking Altergeist could get support because Blue Gal worked with Ghost Gal in the anime, so there is a good chance that the next product release could tie the two VRAINS girls together in a box. That would be hype considering Trickstars and Altergeists have needed some new support for years now.
