It’s GO TIME. The @CFTC is utilizing its existing statutory authorities to establish a crypto asset regulatory market structure. @POTUS promised clear rules of the road for crypto and we are shipping them.

There is nothing more American than discussing the strength and future of American markets on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange as the Opening Bell rings. The new frontier of finance isn't on the horizon. It's here. As our markets evolve at warp speed, the @CFTC is upgrading its rules and regulations to prepare for the era of onchain systems, mass tokenization, 24/7 trading, and agentic finance.

We don’t permit contracts that are readily susceptible to manipulation to be listed on @CFTC registered exchanges. Just yesterday, CFTC staff clarified their views on the listing of mention markets, which raise unique manipulation risks. We’ll continue to hold offerings on our exchanges to the highest standard.

As President Reagan once said, “the future doesn’t belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave.” That has always been the American approach to innovation – embracing ideas, encouraging entrepreneurship, and building the markets of tomorrow.

Regulatory clarity drives sound markets. Pleased to see staff provide guidance on the potential risks and unique considerations associated with the listing of mention markets on @CFTC regulated exchanges and remind DCMs of their obligation to list only contracts not readily susceptible to manipulation.

Introducing the Frontier Forum Series, a series of public roundtables on the innovative technologies that are transforming American financial markets, spearheaded by our Innovation Task Force. Mark your calendars for our first symposium, a conversation on artificial intelligence and agentic finance, which will be held on Wednesday, October 28.

This @CFTC seal, recovered from the ruins of the Twin Towers following the September 11th attacks, hangs with honor in our New York office as a solemn reminder of the lives lost 25 years ago. Today we remember their lives, the courage of our first responders, and the unity and resolve of our nation in the days that followed. Let us never forget.

One week ago, the @CFTC convened the Inaugural Innovation Advisory Committee Meeting, bringing together leaders across finance for critical conversations on the technologies, policies, and decisions that will shape the new frontier of finance. These discussions laid the groundwork for a path forward to advance innovation, strengthen America’s financial markets, and ensure the US leads in building the future of finance.

Yesterday, @ChairmanSelig convened the inaugural Innovation Advisory Committee Meeting, bringing together American innovators, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and builders to advise the Commission on complex issues at the interception of technology, law, policy, and finance.
