Dear @klup thanks for clarifying! I am deeply aware (& I trust many Ugandans in @NUP_Ug ) of your personal engagement at great personal losses including, but not limited to the breakdown of your marriage when the @NRMOnline diaspora spy @SeruIshmael snatched your ex Susan!

Either @klup is impatient or @HEBobiwine, @JNambeshe , @DavidLRubongoya @JoelSsenyonyi @linazed2 @JacklynJolly1, @sasmvn and lately @KivumbiMuwanga are all inefficiently at the helm of such a globalist organisation! Why would @klup be short cutting all channels? address this man!

We've learnt of the arrest of our comrades Ayesiga Promise aka Mr. Nsi, Sarah Namutebi, MC Mose, councillor Sserunjoji, and others as they attended a Holy Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Bulenga (Kikaaya). These comrades had gone to give thanks and dedicate special prayers for our leader @HEBobiwine as their way of marking #BobiWinesDay - a day designated by our mobilisation team to reignite the spirits of our supporters and encourage them to do good works. The leadership of the Church was aware of their presence and offered prayers. As the regime moves around doing their own mobilisation activities, some of which are outrightly illegal, they feel threatened even by @NUP_Ug supporters attending Church. Currently, the Church remains surrounded by police. We must all condemn the stinking double standards and demand for the release of our comrades.

As the remains of His Royal Majesty, Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV arrive back home, we join the people of Tooro and all Ugandans in entering these nine days of solemn mourning. King Oyo was a visionary leader, a symbol of unity, and a brilliant light who led his people with grace from a tender age. He carried the crown of his Kingdom with immense dignity, humility, and grace. Many looked at him as a symbol of what young people can achieve when given the space to lead. He reigned with a quiet strength that inspired millions of young people across Uganda and the world, showing us that age is never a barrier to responsibility and service to your people. It is very painful that he did not get to exhaust his full potential. His passing at such a young age is a profound loss to our culture and the nation at large. We stand in deep solidarity with the Queen Mother, the royal family, and the entire Tooro Kingdom during this dark hour. May we use this period of reflection to honour his legacy and leadership. May God rest his soul in eternal peace, and may his ancestors receive him well. Omukama atuulize. Enkuba etutiire. Entare egwiire. Mahano muno.

As of today, 23 August 2026, Christopher Godi, popularly known as King Zale, remains missing. He was reportedly abducted in Kamwokya, Kampala, on 21 April 2026 by armed men travelling in a “drone” vehicle. His family subsequently sought a habeas corpus order requiring authorities to produce him before court, dead or alive. However, both the Uganda Police Force and the UPDF reportedly told court that he was not in their custody, leaving his whereabouts unknown.  If you are counting from 21 April to 23 August 2026, it is actually 4 months and 2 days — 124 days. Where is King Zale? That remains the unanswered question. His family and friends deserve the truth about his whereabouts and safety. The authorities must account for him and ensure that his family gets answers.

In my submission on the floor of the House, I called for Parliament’s intervention to ensure that communities living around Mt. Elgon National Park are fairly compensated for homes, gardens and property destroyed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Our people should not bear the burden of conservation alone. We must find a just balance between protecting our wildlife and safeguarding the livelihoods of communities living alongside the park. Conservation must benefit both wildlife and the people who coexist with it. #MtElgon #HumanWildlifeConflict #PlenaryUg

A short while ago, I was more than delighted to speak with our nine comrades who came out of prison today, after six years of illegal detention without trial - Ssekitoleko Yasin Machete, Patrick Mwase, Sharif Kalanzi, Joseph Muwonge, Abdallah Kintu, Umar Emma Kato, Kavuma Musa, Jimmy Galukande and Gibusiwa Abdallah. These comrades committed no offence, but the criminal regime refused to try them, release them on bail or simply drop the charges against them. Their only crime was supporting me and the @NUP_Ug in the 2021 election! Instead, the regime gave them only one condition- plead guilty or rot in jail. After six years of waiting, they were released on Amnesty - having appeared yet again before the military court, in complete disregard of the Supreme Court ruling that ordered their files to be transferred to ordinary courts. Either way, we are very glad to have them back. I thank everyone who has consistently demanded for their release, as well as those who have supported them and their families in every way. I thank their families for patiently waiting for this day. Aluta continua.

📌 📌 📌 Since yesterday, many of you have expressed the desire to contribute money to support the livelihoods of the nine political prisoners who were released from detention after close to six years. You may send in your contribution towards this cause to any of these numbers. In addition to the support the Party will extend to them, your contributions will be summed up and distributed to them equally.
