A couple of years ago, someone very close to me hurt me deeply. Since then, I’ve struggled to trust people.
Yesterday, while clearing out my old phone, I found messages from that time. Reading them now, I saw things from a different angle.
In the heat of the moment, it’s hard to see your own mistakes or understand someone else’s perspective. You focus on what just happened, rather than the years that led up to it.
Did I make mistakes? Of course.
Were they justified? On a 90-day timeframe, probably not. But zoom out to the previous 60 months, and I can understand why I acted the way I did.
Sometimes, things only make sense when you see the full chart.
