Being able to code by hand is a privilege at this point imo.
How do you suggest people explain to their managers why it’s taking them so long to “hand craft” their features, while their colleagues are shipping like crazy?
Unless the whole team including the management is aligned on the motivation to not turn the whole codebase into slop, it’s not gonna work.
But then again, how do the managers explain to their manager friends why is their team slow?
If you say people shouldn’t work in teams which doesn’t care about code. Then you’ve not been out in the market recently hunting for a tech job.
If you look outside of the twitter tech bubble, for majority of the crowd, it’s just a job, like any other, to feed their families.
