That pork belly looks incredible, and chicken pot pie is always a win
We made deep fried pork belly and chicken pot pie for dinner. The chicken pot pie is a viral Trader Joe’s recipe. Goodnight X.

Those hash browns were so good. McDonald's breakfast was hard to beat
I don't care what anyone says. McDonald's breakfast tasted better in the 1980s. The Egg McMuffins, the hotcakes, the hash browns. Everything just seemed fresher, hotter, and better. Was the food actually better back then, or are we just remembering it that way?

Homebuying feels completely out of reach for way too many people right now
BREAKING: The number of active home sellers in the US rose +1.2% MoM in September, or +17,276, to 1,510,784, the highest since March 2020. At the same time, the number of active homebuyers fell -2.4%, or -23,161, to 928,892, the lowest on record. This lifts the gap between active sellers and homebuyers to a record 581,892. As a result, there were +62.6% more home sellers than buyers last month, the largest difference on record. This percentage has more than doubled since November 2024. By comparison, the 2021 low was -35.7%, when buyers outnumbered sellers by 633,854. Hundreds of thousands of homebuyers have been priced-out.

How do you protect the extra money one person puts down on a house?

Good morning, X family ❤️ Sometimes, I think about how God works. The same people who doubted you may still be around when He finally lifts you. That’s why I hold on to this scripture. “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.” Psalm 23:5. God doesn’t need everyone to believe in you before He blesses you. He just needs you to trust Him. May we live to see God do the things we couldn’t explain, even to ourselves. 🙏

Man, finding foundation damage that late is a nightmare
Bought a NJ hoarder home for $550K. Inspection came back clean. Cleaned it out and listed it as is, got a full price offer at $700K. Then the buyer’s inspector found horizontal cracks in the foundation you could stick a pen in...From now on my contractor walks every deal before it hits the market 🤦‍♂️

Breakfast for dinner is about to get even more popular
If you’re still eating takeout every other day and cruising around in your car, this economy is about to introduce you to ingredients you’ve been ignoring. You will learn to cook. You will learn to meal prep. You will park that car and stay your ass home.

Apple crisp with vanilla ice cream is the best
Almost end-of-day check-in: 1. Came home from grocery shopping and took a nap. 2. Made roasted chicken and veggies for dinner. Baked cupcakes and currently have an apple crisp in the over. I forgot vanilla ice cream. 3. Watched the Kansas Chiefs lose two players but sqeeze out a win to stay undefeated. 4. There are currently two loads of laundry on the dining room table I need to fold. Most likely will not. 5. Sent @pfordroyals22 a couple texts. See you tomorrow for the number one show in all the land.

I love a well-stocked pantry, especially when everything's getting rotated
Prepper supply rotation • Everyday pantry food: use continuously (FIFO — oldest in front) • Home-canned jars (sauces, vegetables, meats): 12–18 months; high-acid foods closer to 12, low-acid closer to 18. Check seals every 6 months • Dehydrated food in jars: 6–12 months unless vacuum-sealed with oxygen absorbers, then 1–3 years • Dry goods in jars (beans, rice, pasta, grains): 1–2 years; much longer if sealed with oxygen absorbers • Oils, nuts, peanut butter, whole-grain flour: every 6–12 months • Crackers, snacks, granola: every 3–6 months • Store-bought cans: every 1–3 years; inspect every 6 months • Bottled water: every 12–18 months • Refilled water: every 6–12 months • Meds and first aid: every 3–6 months • Batteries: every 6–12 months • Full shelf check: every 6 months (lids, seals, moisture, pests) Date the lid. Eat from the front. Replace what you use. Toss anything with a broken seal, rust, mold, or off smell. Video credit; Preservation Haven 🌱

If you can help your kids get into a home, why wouldn't you?
BOOMERS ARE BASICALLY LIVING IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COUNTRY FROM THEIR OWN KIDS. They have healthcare largely covered through systems younger workers help fund, retirement accounts that benefited from decades of market growth, huge net worth built on housing appreciation, and Social Security checks funded by the working population. Then my father tells me I should leave NYC every time I complain about housing. “Why don’t you move somewhere cheaper? Like Alabama.” “I need to be here. The jobs are here. My friends and family are here.” “So work remotely.” Okay, Dad. Let me just find a high-paying remote job, move halfway across the country, blow up my social life, lose the networking opportunities that come from actually being around people in my industry, and hope that makes housing affordable. Meanwhile, he owns multiple apartments and could help if he wanted to. But instead, I get told to “earn it” because he had to “earn it.” That’s the part I don’t understand. An entire generation can look at their own children struggling with housing and still respond with the exact same advice that worked for them decades ago. Just move. Just work harder. Just buy somewhere cheaper. As if the economic world that gave them their opportunities is the exact same one their kids are living in.

Back after being down sick for a while. 🥄 Six butternut squash washed and headed for the oven, roasted and pureed into baby food. She's eating from the same garden we do.
