Today, the House of Representatives voted 370-48 to pass a bipartisan continuing resolution, previously approved by the Senate by a 90-6 vote, that temporarily blocks the implementation of the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) proposed grantmaking rule through Dec. 11th.

OMB’s proposed rule would increase political intervention and authority to cancel grants for any reason, increasing business uncertainty and jeopardizing scientific research. CEBN will work to see this provision permanently extended.

Senate appropriators recently released a bipartisan bill to fund the government through Dec. 11th. It includes a provision preventing implementation of OMB's grantmaking rule. CEBN President Lynn Abramson applauded appropriators for taking this step to protect R&D. (1/4)
