v1.0.22 of Clean Links for iOS was just released. 🎉
In this release, we’ve added a long requested feature: the ability to scan and inspect WiFi QR codes and also, optionally join the network.
Also, support for cleaning up many new tracking parameters (eg: Instagram stkn, etc).

Hmm, there’s got to be a free app to protect you from it. 🤔
QR code phishing – also known as #quishing – reached record levels in ESET telemetry in H1 2026 as attackers exploit the widespread adoption of QR codes in everyday life. The technique is evolving rapidly in terms of automation, scalability, and detection evasion. 1/5

We've just released Clean Links v1.0.21 for macOS and iOS .
In this release, amongst many other things, one feature that we've always wanted: the ability to convert Google Maps links to Apple Maps links and vice-versa. We hope you like it!

Clean Links v1.0.16 is live: Safari extension now strips tracking parameters before pages open on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
It uses Safari's declarativeNetRequest API, so cleanup happens privately in your browser during navigation. As always, nothing leaves your device.

We just added Safari extension support to Clean Links on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
And if you want zero outbound connections, you can turn on "Disable Network Requests." In that mode, known tracking parameters are still removed, but short links stay shortened.

Thanks for flagging that. We received numerous DMs and emails from users about it yesterday. It most likely changed yesterday. An update with support for it is already on its way and currently awaiting App Store review.

There’s a completely free iOS app to avoid quishing attacks like that. Incidentally, also built in Greystones.

@sindresorhus We understand that you’re selling a $4 app (Pure Paste) for a builtin macOS feature (⌥⇧⌘V). That’s fine. But please don’t attack people and get them banned from subreddits, just because they’re talking about a free, superior alternatives to one of your paid apps.

Posting @sindresorhus’s tenuous “proof” in this thread before he deletes it, like he deleted his reddit comment after getting u/awesomeo1989 banned from r/MacApps with it.

Here’s the comment that got u/awesomeo1989 banned from r/MacApps. I’m posting a google screenshot, because the r/MacApps mods have deleted it at @sindresorhus’s behest.

Here’s the now deleted comment from @sindresorhus. Thanks to a reddit quirk, deleted comments are still visible from user’s profiles.

Firstly, the developer of Clean Links is @jeethu (u/woadwarrior on Reddit) and not u/awesomeo1989. u/awesomeo1989 is a huge fan of my other app @private_llm and as a result, a moderator on our discord and always in my DMs.

Looks like @sindresorhus is getting users banned from the MacApps reddit for mentioning Clean Links, a free alternative to his commercial app HyperDuck. Stay classy my friend!🧵with all the receipts.

Ecosia will make great stewards for Chrome, because they’re so tightly integrated into the Google ads ecosystem. Greenwashing FTW!
