This past weekend, I traveled to the Carolinas to attend camps at @gamecocksoftbll and @charlottesb. I had an amazing time, and I can’t wait to be back soon! Monday message. As teams get ready for fall season; the individuals/leaders that can BE THE STANDARD the most consistently will have the most FUN (and success generally follows too).

AFON Recap! 🐍🤩🐍 ELITE 8 FINISH!!! 🐍🤩🐍 Although our Vipers started uncharacteristically slow in pool play, dropping their two pool games on Wednesday, they rebounded in a BIG way the rest of the weekend, winning their last pool play game and five bracket games to finish tied for 7th for the tournament out of 90 teams - an amazing result!   📊 In their 10 games for the weekend, they outscored their opponents 60-39, hitting their way to a .336 batting average while blasting 8 home runs!  When balls weren't leaving the yard, the team's .400 OBP for the tournament meant we were showing off our base running skills, racking up 20 stolen bases for the weekend.   ⭕️ The pitching rounded into form on Day 2 as well.  Facing their best competition of the year, Viper pitchers struck out 49 batters for the tournament in 50 innings pitched and worked to an ERA of 2.94 for the weekend, while holding opponents to a batting average of .260 - nearly 80 points lower than our hitters. 💪 Our Vipers competed all season, and certainly made a statement and had an incredible run in their last summer tournament. Whether it was their gritty #alwaysus mindset on display, their leadership from the circle, or simply starting out on top with first inning bombs. This middle-TN based team belongs, and their heart and talents proved it. 👊 The girls are extremely proud of their summer season!  We asked them as a team to step up their game by playing in higher level tournaments against regional and national competition, under a new organization, and the girls responded by going 21-10-1 across their five tournaments, and finishing on a high note with their 7th place finish at AFON!   It’s time for an extended break to allow time to prep for and get settled into the school year.  You'll see the green and gold again soon, though!  Keep an eye out for the Vipers fall schedule, which will be finalized and posted soon! Our coaches and families could not be prouder of this amazing group of teammates!  The personal growth they have shown not only as softball players but as incredible young women has us excited for what lies ahead for them individually and as a team.  All of them exemplify the #AlwaysUs motto this team has carried for the past three years and their character and grit left us hungry for more! Can’t wait for fall season! Great close to the season this week at AFON in Chattanooga! My team finished 7th out of 90 teams! I started out a little rough in the circle, but made some adjustments throughout the week and finished strong. 15 runs allowed on Wednesday compared to only 11 for all 8 other games. Season Stats: 71.2 IP, 30 BB, 87 K, 2.735 ERA, 1.465 WHIP, .253 BAA. Overall, a pretty good season, and now I have a few weeks to get some work in and prep for fall ball!!
