Congratulations to all of our athletes on their performances this past week, and a special congratulations to those advancing in the playoffs! 🔴⚫ NEWMAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL Congratulations to the Newman Catholic Knights on their impressive 41-14 playoff victory over Starmont! The Knights advance to take on North Linn this week! Westly Cole – Senior, TE/OLB 3 Receptions for 44 Yards 7 Tackles 2 Tackles for Loss 1 Forced Fumble Another outstanding two-way performance from Westly, making an impact on both sides of the football! Joe Boehmer – Center/Defensive Tackle Congratulations to Joe on another great performance anchoring the offensive line at center! Joe helped pave the way for a Newman Catholic rushing attack that totaled 339 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns! Outstanding work up front! Also congratulations to Isaiah Carson, Weston Nonnweiler, and Ryan Wolf on the playoff victory and advancing to the next round! 🔴⚪️WEST HANCOCK HIGH SCHOOL Congratulations to the West Hancock Eagles on their hard-fought 21-14 playoff victory over Nashua-Plainfield! The Eagles advance to face Woodbury Central this week! Michael Gretillat: Center/DE Congratulations to Mike on helping lead the way up front for a West Hancock offense that rushed for 286 yards! Outstanding work by the senior in the trenches on both sides of the football, he added 5 tackles for his DE position! Erick Barranca: OT/DE Congratulations to Erick on helping lead the way up front for a West Hancock offense that rushed for 286 Yards! I’m looking forward to watching him play at his DE position again this week! Levi Monson – Sophomore, FB/LB 6 Tackles Another solid defensive performance from Levi in the Eagles' playoff victory! I look forward to working with Levi in the future , his best football is still in front of him but he’s having an outstanding Sophmore season. Gaige Tindall – Sophomore, OL/DL Congratulations to Gaige on helping lead the way up front for the Eagles' 286-yard rushing performance! Great job getting the job done in the trenches! One of my favorite times of the year! The weather is beautiful, high school football playoffs are kicking off, and one of the most rewarding parts of coaching is starting to see athletes who have busted their butts, put in countless hours of hard work, and earned opportunities to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level! This week, three Elite Impact Barbell athletes received college football scholarship offers! 🏈 Brody Brown – Grand View University 🏈 Erick Barranca – Waldorf University 🏈 Michael Gretillat – Waldorf University Congratulations, gentlemen!! It's always rewarding as a coach to see athletes get recognized for the work they've put in and have opportunities open up for their futures.
