2 additional notes I ran out of room for:
1) Thank you to my support circle. I’m beyond grateful and blessed for how large it has grown and greatly respect, cherish, and love each and every one of you.
My parents, who have been together for nearly 30 years and instilled every value into me that made me the man I am today and gave me the path and support to continue to grow into a better man each day.
My younger brother, for being an inspiration to me. I’m extremely proud of you for finding the love of your life at such a young age, going through all your ups and downs together, and finally tying the knot earlier this year. Watching you both build a strong relationship and successful life with your own home, vehicles, and routine in your teens was shocking to me. Hi Abby, make sure to keep him in line while I’m in the cornfields of Iowa.
To all my friends, both past, present, and future - thank you for the life lessons, the laughs, the “arguments” over ridiculous things. Thank you for the highs, the lows, and all the in-betweens. Even if I don’t have as much time to show or express it - I greatly cherish each and every friendship.
To my relatives, thank you for helping mold me into who I am currently and am pushing towards. Thank you for all the wisdom, advice, support, and kind words and actions over the years. I’m honored to share a last name/family tree with you all.
To my teachers, thank you for showing me how to teach young men, how to care for others, how to be a respectful and active listener, and telling me both what works and what doesn’t work.
To my coaches/fellow coaches - thank you for everything. Regardless of if you were my favorite, least favorite, or somewhere in between. I truly learned and picked up numerous things from you all. Whether that was work ethic, attention to detail, perseverance, leadership, coachability, or what to steer away from - your lessons stick with me to this day.
Finally, to all my players:
You are what matters most to me in this business.
Not the title.
Not the money.
Not the rings.
Not the accolades.
Not the fame.
Not the lifestyle.
But each and every one of you growing into the absolute best version of you not only during your years on the field, but those decades off and after you are done.
I push every one of you to self-reflect on who you wish to be in life, and take an hour or two to put together a detailed plan over the next few weeks, months or years on how to get there.
I never expected my path to this current role, but I always acted on what I wanted to be and showcase as a man.
None of us are perfect except our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - but we can certainly model ourselves in his image and do our best to be our best and let our light shine on everyone we come into contact with.
To many more years with all who are listed above and the memories and laughs that come with.
Coach Guenterberg out.
Go Panthers.
Love you Mom, Dad, Caleb, and Abby.
