As a former college coach, this is BIG FACTS.
Players and parents can make accusations publicly, but coaches often can’t respond because of privacy laws, school policies, and legal obligations. The public usually only hears one side.
Also, as someone who gets paid on X, I understand how the platform works.
Outrage drives engagement.
Engagement drives revenue.
The more controversial the story, the more clicks it gets.
The problem is that real people, real families, and real careers can be damaged if information is incomplete or inaccurate.
This is going to keep happening until someone decides to take it to court. People need to remember that a viral post isn’t automatically the full story.
Coaches are often judged by the stories they can’t tell. I wish coaches had the same opportunity to defend themselves that others do.
