I don’t need to hear complaints about the coach, comparisons between players, or constant instructions being yelled from the stands.
I’m there to enjoy the game, cheer for the team and hope they win.

I get calls from college coaches about players they first saw on social media. You never know who’s watching.

Every throw matters. Hit your partner in the chest. Move your feet. Catch it with two hands. Build good habits.
Playing catch isn’t just warming up—it’s part of practice.

There are a ton of travel baseball organizations and coaches, but many don’t have real college connections.
Posting players isn’t recruiting. Making calls, having credibility with college coaches and a track record of getting players into schools matters.

Metrics started in MLB. I get it—it’s professional baseball. Then they moved to college, then HS, and now youth baseball.
Do we really need all these metrics at every level?
At some point, kids just need to learn how to play the game.

A Seasoned Coach told me this weekend: “Doesn’t matter the sport, parents care about one thing—their kid’s playing time.”
Winning, losing, team chemistry and development come second. If their kid is playing, everything’s great. If not, suddenly there’s a problem.

I don’t know why parents and players feel the need to inflate scholarship offers or numbers. It’s OK to earn a college roster spot without athletic money. Coaches talk. Be proud of the opportunity you earned to keep playing baseball at the next level.

People love to knock D3 baseball because there are no athletic scholarships. But I’m seeing D3 schools put together better financial packages than some D2s. Talking directly with coaches, they’re making it happen. Don’t get caught up in the division. Look at the total package.
