Former Georgia running back Garrison Hearst will be honored on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the University of Georgia and the National Football Foundation (NFF) hold an on-campus Hall of Fame salute during the Bulldogs' home game against Oklahoma at Sanford Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Hearst, who played for Georgia from 1990-92, was named to the 2026 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class. His 1992 junior season is considered one of the best in program history: he earned unanimous First Team All-America honors, won the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back, finished third in Heisman Trophy voting, and led the nation in scoring with 126 points.
The ceremony will take place on the field before kickoff, where Hearst will receive a permanent Hall of Fame plaque. He becomes the 17th Georgia player inducted into the NFF College Football Hall of Fame, joining former Bulldogs like Herschel Walker, Champ Bailey, and Fran Tarkenton.
