I have so much respect for high school football coaches. It’s a sport that requires significant amount of time meeting and watching film. When you work a 9-5 all of that comes at the sacrifice of time with family and friends. Then they go out and have 1 shot a week to get it right. The whole town is there. They all have something to say when it’s not going well. The glory is great, but the stress and work has to be hard.

It’s a foreign language I completely understand. and THAT is why we don’t listen to the coaches in the stands. Or on the internet.

Is the Gap of knowledge between casual fans and coaches/players higher in football than any other sport? I feel like it has to be, no avenues for casual football playing pretty much outside of high school stops all learning of the game for 99% of fans.

Stuff coaches should know by now: - “Flush runs” won’t help very much - Any conditioning done now won’t impact the season 6 months from now - Time/energy are finite, we shouldn’t waste them in unhelpful areas … yet Fall baseball long distance running is still rampant everywhere
