🔎 This @Graphika_NYC + @Code4Africa report exposes a network of 44 ghost reporters and fake experts whose content appeared across 138 African websites and 113 Facebook Accounts.
Our findings reveal how fabricated bylines, fake expertise, and repeated publication can make state narratives look like independent reporting.

📍What the Project Oasis Africa launch revealed about Independent Media
@sembramedia and @Code4Africa have launched Project Oasis Africa, mapping 750+ independent digital media organisations across Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa
The launch brought together media leaders and practitioners for a panel discussion on audience shifts, innovation, revenue and the future of sustainable independent media. The conversation explored how audience behaviour is changing, why newsrooms need to adapt to new platforms and formats, and what it takes to develop media products that can generate sustainable revenue.
A big thank you to our panellists @QaanitahHunter, @WalleLawal, @A_Strydom, and Marina Kouakou for sharing their insights and experiences.
