The front and back of a house? Then, instead of giving a simple answer, you start listing the technologies you use without even specifying what you mean by “front and back.” The interviewer is simply expecting you to say “Frontend and Backend Development” or “I’m a Full-Stack Developer.” Clarify your specialization first. You can explain your tech stack afterward.

Backend effort often goes unseen without the frontend. The backend provides the logic, data, security, and APIs, while the frontend consumes those endpoints and turns the results into something users can see and interact with. A backend can function independently, but without a frontend consuming it, most users won't directly experience what has been built.
