Yeah. Not me. I'd rather be poor in fiat than go back to corpo world and waste my best years away. Running my own shop has given me the freedom in life that I found with Bitcoin and money. It seems like there are always pros and cons to designing something. We chose 304 Stainless Steel, Compact, Human-readable, and to only require 1 small tool. There are many others out there who have chosen different trade offs and that's my favorite part about bitcoin. You can innovate however you see fit and we're all really on the same team. Here is a break down of what we considered when designing the Punchplates. 304 Stainless Steel - Pros: Affordable, will withstand common house fires, corrosive environments, physically durable, easier and safer to polish when involved in a house fire vs other alloys like titanium. Cons: Melting point is a bit lower than Titanium(but still higher than a common house fire) Compact - Pros: Obvious. Cons: Also easier to lose something small. Human-readable - Pros: No computer or device needed to decode it. Scratches and marring within reason won't render it unreadable like QR's. Cons: Must be interpreted by you to restore, longer process to restore. Tools - Pros: Only 1 tool means it's cheaper to get started and there are less tools to keep track of or choose from. Cons: requires some form of encoding or layout grid. We think we made the right calls but would love to hear your take!

Shipping domestically(USA) you don't need a first and last name and can usually just use "current resident". We can delete all your data except billing information which you can delete/change after we've shipped your order. Our shipments/packages/Punchplates do not have any obvious bitcoin or Punchplate markings on the outside of the box or on the Plates themselves.
