Got some good work in this week on both sides of the ball. On defense, I worked on staying in the ground while throwing, change of direction, centering the ball, and different throwing slots. Had a great hitting lesson with @Coach_Twinn working through different movements and making adjustments. Understanding how my body works and moves before I swing. Great day @McNeeseSoftball with my team! One of my favorite parts was the 4-ball drill from the middle, especially finishing with a jump throw on the last ball. It was a fun way to challenge myself and work on making plays from different positions. I’ve been to McNeese a few times now, and I always find something new to take away from each camp. Speed and agility work today with more of a focus on recovery after maxing out in the weight room yesterday. Hit new PRs with a 115 lb bench press and a 315 lb trap bar deadlift. I also got some hitting work in, focusing on adjustability and hitting different pitches while working on my direction to center field. Back @SouthAlabamaSB for my second camp, and I loved every minute of it! After hitting camp yesterday, I came back today and got a lot of productive work in on both offense and defense. One of my favorite parts was working with the machine and Lite Flight balls — it was definitely challenging, but so much fun! Thankful to get in with @Coach_Twinn today! Worked on understanding how to properly turn and replacing the elbows during the turn. Focusing on using the ground, feeling my legs, and learning how to move more efficiently through the swing. Got some hitting work in last night, working on weight transfer and maintaining good posture throughout my swing. We also did some crossover drills and added longer front toss to challenge me to track the ball longer, wait on it, and hold the stretch. Defense work today! Worked on getting the short hop, different slots, and feeds while working on keeping everything quick and clean. Had a great lesson with @Coach_Twinn today and got some defense work in! We focused on understanding how my body moves and learning more about my movement patterns. One thing I really love that he emphasizes is that every athlete moves differently, so we worked on understanding my motor preferences and how I can use them in my training.
