It's time for people to admit that it's a quintessential part of lore baked into the stories of Bungie Halo games, and not some abandoned plot point like in 343 era Halo games.
Halo fans will say only the games matter and no one cares about the books until you say forerunners aren't humans and suddenly we see a book and an unused storyboard being held up as more important
