It was often like this: Republicans inherited a strong economy from Democrats, then weakened the economy toward the end of their terms and handed the problems over to Democrats to fix. As a result, it can create the impression that the economy performed well under Republicans.
I happily voted for Reagan and Bush 41. It took listening to Limbaugh laughing about Reagan and the GOP (except for (future Fox talking head) Col. Oliver North) getting away with Iran-Contra to begin waking me up…and I’ve never looked back.
