Back from Commerce Roundtable in San Diego feeling fresh Talked to guys who built $100M brands, guys who raised $50M for their startups Biggest takeaway: the gap between me and them is way smaller than I thought. They figured something out. I did too. Running an agency for 100+ brands is honestly harder than most of what I heard there, so many moving pieces. AI is moving extremely fast and teams can build anything right now. Came back thinking statics are a medium, not the only format. Video ads, media buying, bothing stops us from doing it all. But the format was never the work. The work is what you deliver, sure. In advertising it's also making someone feel something so strong they want to stay for the story. Positive, negative, doubtful, doesn't matter, as long as it overflows. It's understanding what's subtle and what actually creates meaning. Utility alone doesn't hit as hard or last as long. Combine it with that and something crazy happens. “We've come too far to give up who we are” Daft Punk said it better Let’s work

I didn’t realize it till this year, but @iamshackelford said Commerce Roundtable is about “Old friends reconnecting or a new beginnings” Grateful for another successful year. Finishing the week after it going to 2 DTC events on opposite coasts. @CommerceRound San Diego → @runneth NYC The talks were great. The little convos outside them are what I’ll remember… @SarahLevinger is the only person I know who gets visibly excited talking about creative ops. I respect it. @EricRausch and I have a similar philosophy on selling our companies and a love for flag football, though his knee might disagree. @alexgoughcooper is pretty damn impressive. I may have fan-girled when he told me he's been following me. @jappleby and I relate on torso proportions. I’m still not sure what he does but I like him. @DenneyDara has a voice for the stage, is so kind and welcoming, and thinks “around the corner” equates to a 20 minute walk 😅 @alyshadotmd needs to be followed by every marketer learning AI. Mad respect for her.

@CommerceRound in San Diego this week was the 1st time @alexrudolphh and I spoke at an event It was a ton of fun and we got to meet so many cool brands in the process Excited for more opportunities like this to teach brands about what’s working on TikTok shop and how to scale your affiliate program with best in class affiliate management Also we got to announce that TBAR Partners got acquired by @CommnThreadCo which was super fun and awesome to see all the support from everyone

The only show you should be tuning into every day is @ecommcowboy. @chrislukehall & @colindougherty are 1 of 1’s. Out at @CommerceRound they were live out on the event patio overlooking the water and invited me on for an episode to talk KURD. I did more “building in public” during this 20 minute segment than most of your heroes ever have. Link in bio for the full episode. We went into how and why KURD. started, why we chose mayo as our enemy, why building a true brand and product are more important than anything else you can do, we cracked some jokes, and enjoyed each others company. What an amazing 2 days out in San Diego at @CommerceRound. Thanks to @jimmykim and his team for putting together such a dope DTC event. Kudos to the @ecommcowboy gang, too — @chrislukehall and @colindougherty, you killed it. And thanks to all who joined us for our Spicy Sunset Soirée. When people ask how the “conference” was and I have to explain that @CommerceRound isn’t a sad ballroom full of awkward small talk and guys in vests and it’s somehow always the time of my life. Anyways the post CRSD withdrawals are hitting hard. I forgot how good it feels to hang with people IRL instead of on a zoom call.

Just finished up speaking at the conference @CommerceRound We got to meet so many cool people there but one of the best parts was getting to talk with @hararidylan and @LukasPakter to hear their vision of Trybe and where it's going We've been able to work with some of the biggest brands on Trybe and scale them up as some of the fastest growing brands on the platform. The platform makes so much sense because it aligns incentives between brands and affiliates so everyone involved makes a ton of money Excited to get back to my desk after our convos and soon solidify TBAR Partners powered by Common Thread Collective as the #1 TikTok shop agency but also the #1 Trybe agency as well!

finally home from san diego, what a great city liver needs a few days to recover have a tonne of notes which I need to work through, but learnt some things we can implement on tiktok, trybe and in our creatives

Good times in San Diego with my CWILL compadres! @CommerceRound brought Michael, Justin, Fred, and me together for a few days. We had time as a team, swapped ideas with people from across the ecommerce community, and made plenty of new connections along the way. See you in 2027!

Yeah a big band in Jacksonville, it was a big college though, and they offered me like 15, some shit like 10 million or something like that, 5 million something like that, on scholarship.
