Compromised Investigator's playtest is live!🥰
Night one: 112 runs, 94 deaths, 3 survivals.
As soon as the Vampire Investigators were unlocked, David became the top cause of death (24%)🤣

Fair point. I'll have to see if I'll change the wording. Currently it's "gained" whether it's an Item, an Ability, or an Affliction. Might change it to "became affilicted by" but then again, that's a bit too long. 😅
Was a simple bug fixing day, but I added fleeing from combat..
It works! 🥰
But now I have to decide what happens when you don't stop a Cleric assaulting a crypt with the Holy Relic YOU gave him.
And about a dozen more unavoidable fights you can now run from 🤣

Ha, so the report can lie but the dead remember. That gap between what you write down and what the world actually saw feels like the heart of an investigator game. Thanks for the answer, looking forward to seeing where Compromised Investigator goes!
Another update to the playtest 🥰
Lot of bugs, few features, and a lot of text!
Coming up next, continuation of the massive rewrite ❤️
Keys for the playtest still only on discord for now!

A rewrite that keeps the text-heavy heart while you chase the bugs sounds like a good kind of chaos. Hope the next pass makes the playtest feel even sharper.
The log sells it: first try the zombie cuts you off and you eat a Scratch, second try you're out. Fleeing clearly isn't free. For the Cleric: since the report is yours to write, does walking away become one more thing you choose to put in or leave out?
I love my dev tools❤️
Flow Map of a case in Compromised Investigator, now with real playtest data on top, with event previews, and the arrows show the runs split at each choice🥰
Thicker the arrow, the more players went that way!

Ha, that's the best possible outcome for a playtest tool. Did any of the surprises end up changing the case structure, or just confirming where players naturally go?
Did anyone ask for the fonts from my unreleased game? No.
Did I finish their full character sets anyway and put them on itch? Absolutely 🥰

If your game needs tiny letters, these are very tiny🤣

Rewriting continues!
No longer just swapping a few words based on your character state.
Fully custom event descriptions!
Need to sell the different world Day and Night creatures live in❤️
Taking ages, but I love writing, and it's worth it🥰

Compromised Anatomy got 2nd place in Judge's Choice in MicroJam!! 🥳
And now, back on the Compromised Investigator grind.
The jam was a very good detour: the pixel morph system I built for it is coming to CI 🥰

will there be global consequences of actions in all the subsequent (or atleast some) runs like in Reigns?
It seems super cool to kinda follow your own actor from the past run from another perspective ;0
tbh I'm still on the fence with this one🤔
The characters are named and the events distinct, so real cross-run consequences would be a bit problematic.
Right now, the Mystery Box inventory is the only link, but big flags like the flood will probably carry over to the next run! 🥰
Had an absolute blast watching Ulloriaq stream Compromised Investigator yesterday! 🥰
Very helpful for catching bugs live, and I had a lot of fun in the chat ❤️

Obviously heavy spoilers, Ulloriaq almost 100%s the playtest during the 7h-stream 🤣
