A child struggling in the water, while his own father boards the boat rather than staying to protect him. I believe scenes like this expose the failures surrounding these crossings, from the charities involved, to the actions of the French authorities, to the decisions being made by the British Government. People are becoming increasingly angry about what they are seeing. I genuinely fear that if confidence in the authorities continues to collapse, some people will eventually try to take matters into their own hands. You can argue about migration policy all day, but footage like this raises serious questions about screening, public safety and who is being allowed into the country. Labour’s controversial Islamophobia definition — and the process by which it was drafted — stinks more and more of a cover-up every day. It was bad enough that Angela Rayner appointed five individuals to the Working Group tasked with drafting the definition, all of whom had troubling links to Islamist organisations, including the Muslim Council of Britain and MEND. Now, thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy, it has emerged that every submission to the Working Group’s consultation was deleted — apparently in breach of the Government’s own data policy. At every turn, Labour ministers have refused to answer straightforward questions from parliamentarians and key stakeholders such as the Free Speech Union. Who submitted evidence to the consultation? Did extremists have an opportunity to influence the drafting of the definition? Did ministers instruct officials to delete every response? It has also emerged that the Government pressed the Equality and Human Rights Commission to accept the proposed definition, despite the EHRC’s objections. The EHRC and the Free Speech Union repeatedly warned that this definition was unnecessary and would have a chilling effect on free speech. Laws already exist to protect people from religious hatred and discrimination. If Labour genuinely cared about tackling anti-Muslim hatred, it would enforce those laws — not introduce a definition that risks silencing legitimate debate. Read more below 👇

Please watch this entire video. This is quite possibly one of the clearest examples I’ve filmed of what appears to be a complete lack of action by French authorities when dealing with illegal migrant crossings. Let me walk you through what you’re seeing. The men wearing masks are the suspected smugglers. One is wearing a black hoodie with white patterns — and I’ve seen him before and he knows me That raised an obvious question: how do the smugglers get back to France after launching the boats? From what I have personally witnessed, once everyone is aboard, some of those involved jump back into the water and return to shore. On other occasions, I have seen people taken aboard French support vessels and brought back. This time, I filmed the masked men jumping off the boat and then hiding amongst the group still waiting to board. I immediately pointed them out to the French authorities who were standing nearby, equipped with firearms, riot gear and shields. I showed them who I believed the men were. They did nothing. No detention that I witnessed. No questioning that I witnessed. No attempt to separate them from the group. If those men were involved in organising the crossing, stopping and properly investigating them could have disrupted at least part of the operation. Watch the whole video.
