Sheeran didn’t “cave to people who refuse to accept what the world knows.” He had venues saying the dates get canceled if the opener stays. Hundreds of thousands of people bought tickets for a concert, not a captive-audience sermon.
The “if they were white children” line pretends there hasn’t already been years of protests, encampments, and wall-to-wall coverage. Child deaths in Gaza are a horror. So is Hamas starting this war, embedding among civilians, and murdering children on October 7. Collapsing that into “the world knows it’s genocide, and anyone who won’t host Macklemore is racist” is not a fact. It’s a demand that Sheeran fans eat a political rally they didn’t purchase.
Private stadiums can refuse an act. Ticket holders are not obligated to sit through it. They paid for Sheeran. They still get Sheeran. That’s the product.
